Many churches have found its most effective to engage with Imagine No Malaria for at least a 6-8 week season. This amount of time allows information to sink in, for excitement to be shared, and for the reach to be broad. Think about a time in the life of your church that this campaign makes sense. Advent, Lent, World Malaria Day (April 25) all are great times to consider and there are special INM resources available as well.
Use the videos, bulletin inserts, handouts and other materials to build awareness of the need and the United Methodist response.
Create a display, host a INM mission event, use videos and announcements, hand outs and flyers to build understanding in your church. Then reach out to your community with information, inviting them to participate in events and activities. Share the Imagine No Malaria story across your community.
This is an opportunity to share your church with your community by sharing the Imagine No Malaria ministry. From newspaper articles to providing speakers to civic groups to hosting events there are countless opportunities for everyone to have an active part in saving lives! Become involved; invite someone else to get to know you and tell the INM story. There are ways for everyone, of every age to help save a life from Malaria!
What's a Luke 9:6 church?
Luke 9:6 Churches – ‘they went through the villages, bringing the good news and curing diseases everywhere.’ These congregations have made the commitment to raising a minimum of $25,000 for Imagine No Malaria over the next three years.
What's a Barnabus Church?
Barnabus churches – in the book of Acts, Barnabus was the encourager of other Christians and these churches do the same for all of us. They are committed to raising $100 per worshiper for Imagine No Malaria over the next 3 years. That's less than $3.00 per month per attendee.
Create your own breath prayer or use this one, ‘Use me O Lord, use even me to help imagine no malaria’ and let the Spirit work. Let God dream a God sized dream for saving lives, for God can do more than we can imagine, if we just let his spirit work within us. Thank you for all you’re doing to help save lives and to encourage others to do so as well.
